Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM-5-TR)

Published by the American Psychiatric Association, the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (DSM) is a reference guide containing descriptions, symptoms, and other criteria for diagnosing mental disorders along with HIPAA-approved ICD-10-CM classification codes.

The DSM-5 (fifth edition) was released in 2013, and the updated DSM-5-TR (fifth edition; text revision) was released in 2022. The new text revision contains updated codes and terminology, more inclusive language, and a new disorder—prolonged grief disorder.

A print copy of the DSM-5-TR is available for review in Reference Collections at ECPI University campus libraries.
