Add New Search Skills to Your Research Toolbox

In this vast information landscape, ECPIU Libraries has your back! We added two new resources for searching databases that are available in the A-Z Database list.

Case Study Search

How do I search for Case Studies in a journal database?

A case study is a detailed look at a real-life situation or example to help you understand a topic better. It focuses on one case—like a person, company, event, or problem—and explains what happened, why it happened, and what can be learned from it.

PICOT Search

A PICOT Search is a way to find answers to clinical questions using research. You start with a PICOT question, which stands for:

  • P – Patient or Problem
  • I – Intervention (what you want to do)
  • C – Comparison (what you’re comparing it to, if anything)
  • O – Outcome (what you hope to see)
  • T – Time (how long it takes, if relevant)

You use this question to search for evidence in Health Science and Nursing databases. It helps you find the best research to support patient care.
